Indiana has developed one of the strongest and most robust health information technology sectors anywhere in the United States today, featuring:

• Five health information exchanges (HIE) operate self-sustaining and growing enterprises throughout the state–from South Bend to Evansville and Bloomington to Kokomo to Fort Wayne
• Through these five exchanges, more than 6.3 million messages are exchanged every month
• More than 12,000 physicians statewide are part of Indiana’s health information exchange networks
• More than 12 million patient records are part of Indiana’s HIE networks
